SHANGHAI TANG celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special collection in collaboration with renowned Chinese visual artist Chen Man.

Inspired by the Jicui Archway in Beihai Park, the collection reflects Chen Man's upbringing along Beijing's central axis. It features shades of ink-green mineral pigments from traditional Chinese painting, capturing the lush scenery of "Jicui". Each garment blends ink black with rich green linings, expressing a harmonious outer elegance and a free, abundant inner world. The gourd, symbolising "fortune and prosperity," is intricately woven into the designs. Crafted from fragrant cloud silk and silk fabrics, the pieces exude clarity and spirituality.

This collection preserves SHANGHAI TANG's signature elegance while merging Chen Man's distinct visual art style, creating a unique fusion of contemporary Chinese aesthetics and a captivating wearable experience.

Chen Man is a Chinese photographer, filmmaker, painter, and installation artist. 

Chen Man's works have been frequently collected by top international art museums. She is the Chinese visual artist whose work is under permanent collections by the Victoria and Albert Museum in the UK and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.
