FUSING POETRY AND COLOURS

2024 Autumn-Winter Collection, drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese poet Li Bai’s classical Chinese poem, “Bring In The Wine”, which depicts the aesthetic and worldview of the Tang Dynasty.

With this collection, Shanghai Tang examines whether we can be cajoled to experience the joie de vivre of a life thoroughly in harmony with nature’s forces and throw abandon to the wind, as Li Bai extols.

AW2024 WOMENSWEAR

The collection’s womenswear indulges in sequin, gold couching, and hollow embroidery, while also employing devoré, hot stamping, and lace appliqué. The generous floral landscape and auspicious animal motifs of the “Winding Stream Party” on select pieces summon a vibrant vitality, transcending time and space.

AW2024 MENSWEAR

Menswear begins with the integrity of tailored structural designs, layering skilled applications of velvet, special shimmering fabrics, and quilted cotton to seamlessly integrate fabric shapes with the body’s movement. Iconic SHANGHAI TANG looks such as the Tang Cashmere Jacket and Tang Mandarin Collar Shirt embrace the opulent imagery of this season, further harmonizing traditional Chinese elegance with modern menswear aesthetics.

To showcase SHANGHAI TANG’s 2024 Autumn-Winter Collection, renowned director Quentin Shih, known for his cinematic neorealism, portrays complex characters navigating between fantasy and reality. The imagery captured by Shih mirrors the psychological depth of fashion, enhancing each scene with vibrant aesthetics that introspectively probe colourful depths, all while resonating with “joie de vivre”, with vitality and life that sings from the fibers and soul of every garment.
